Shine Your Light

Posted by Geremiah Delvalle on

This blog is on sharing your light. All Christians are evangelist. We all go to church and read the Bible, but do we ever spread Christianity? Roman 3:29 says ‘Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of the Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,’. God is everyones’ God no matter what. Us Christians just need to show that God is the true God. Here are 5 points about sharing your light.

       1) Show yourself as a great example

When you’re being an evangelist, you don’t go to lost souls saying ‘Hey, Jesus saved you’ because the lost soul won’t even know who the true God is? How about being a good example of being a servant to the Lord.  People will then look up to you as a great person and will follow your footsteps.  This is what you want. When people ask you why you get a lot of good fortune, you give it all to God. Then start telling them about God and how he is great. Tell them with enthusiasm to get them excited. Then start inviting them to church or giving them a bible. Get people towards Jesus because you care.

2 )Never argue with a fool

There are two types of lost souls. One of them are nonbelievers- these people might be people in poverty, orphans, or people that never heard about Christ. It is easy to put God’s light in their hearts because maybe no on never taught them or they gave up because of their circumstances. The other type is fools. They are confident in what they believe whether they are atheists or believe other gods. They are harder to get God’s light into because, you must first, get them off their beliefs. So, don’t verbally try to get these people off their beliefs. Don’t stress yourself by arguing with a fool because soon you’ll become a fool. Proverbs 26:4 says, ‘Do not answer a fool according to his foolishness, or you yourself will be just like him.’ All the fool does is laugh at you. So, don’t try to approach to them physically.  Pray for them and God will make his presence in their life whether it's now or later.

Don’t try to suppress the fool by forcing him to believe in Christ, either. God never did that. He never told the Gentiles to believe him or else, so why would you. Peoples’ relationships should be genuine not fake. People should love God for who he is not because they’ll get a good life in heaven. Mark 12:30 says ‘And you shall love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength’. That’s what God wants. He wants all of you because He gave you all of him. So, make sure, instead of forcing, pray for the fools.

        3) Just say ‘Jesus loves you’

Say you’re walking towards someone; all you have to say is ‘Jesus loves you’. God is love, pure love. So, when you say ‘Jesus loves you’ you are saying that God is blessing you and is over you. They might look at you crazy like ‘What are you talking about’ unless they already know Jesus. When they look at you crazy, don’t act like everybody knows Jesus except that person, because some people have no clue about God. Just say ‘Let me tell you about Jesus’ and then start attacking that seed of doubt. But if you find they are a fool in the beginning, stop the conversation after that pray for them. Otherwise be their friend.

          4) Don’t look at disabilities as a disability to be an evangelist

You know the saying everyone says, ‘There’s no excuse for going to church’. Well here’s another one ‘There’s no excuse to be an evangelist’ Listen to this verse Exodus 4:11 “Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made the man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing? Or blind? Is it not, I the Lord?”’ The Lord chose you to have a disability so you can be put to the test and see how you react to it. You have to overcome a challenge but will soon realize God gave all the tools to overcome it. God says this, if you can’t walk that doesn’t mean you can preach around the world. If you’re sick, doesn’t mean you can’t heal others. No one can stop you, not even the devil. The devil could never defeat God and you’re in God’s likely image. So that means no one can defeat you since you’re in God’s likely image. If no one can defeat God then that means, since you are in God’s image then no one can stop you. You’ll be undefeated, unstoppable, and undeniable even with a disability or dysfunction.

            5) Never fear FEAR

Fear is one thing that keeps us from spreading the word.  Sometimes you fear that lost souls won’t listen to you. Well, read Deuteronomy 31:18 ‘The Lord himself goes before you and you will be with you; he’ll never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.’ The Lord is with us, everyone! Every time you feel afraid you should read this verse. The devil steps in with fear and will try to crash you down with it. But God has your back. He’ll slice that fear with the Sword of the Holy Spirit. There’s a reason God loves you, He created you, and you are his. He’ll never forsake you, look how far he has taken you and never left. Please share the light that God gave you! Seek his face and keep the faith.  Amen, Amen.
